Green silicon carbide in a resistance type electric furnace with petroleum coke, quartz sand and other materials.It is an extremely hard (Knoop 2600 or Mohs 9.4) manufactured material with high thermal conductivity (100 W/m-K).In addition, it also has high strength at elevated temperatures (at 1000℃, Green SiC is 7.5 times stronger than Al2O3).It is the higher purity silicon carbide manufactured with typically>98.5%of SiC. The Green Silicon Carbide (SiC) is produced basically in the same process as black crystal type is alpha phase silicon carbide in the form of hexagonally shaped platelets.
